School of Humanitarian and Social Sciences, People's Friendship University of Russia RUDN RUDN University is one of the leading
state higher educational institutions of Russia. It is the only
university in the world every year uniting students from 145-150
countries. The University has a multiprofile structure of faculties and
majors, typical for classical universities of the world. More than 77
thousand graduates of the University work in 170 countries, among them
more than 5500 holders of PhD and Doctorate degrees. Specialists are
prepared in 62 majors and lines of study. More than 29 thousand graduate
and postgraduate students from 140 countries are currently studying at
the university. They represent more than 450 nations and nationalities

Faculty of Humanitarian and Social Sciences The faculty was established within Peoples' Friendship University of Russia on June 28, 1996 on the resolution of its Academic Council as part of the process of reorganization of Historical-Philological Faculty. When the Faculty was organized, it worked out a concept of its development, meeting the requirements and needs of modern public, political, social and economic situation in Russia, and in line with modern development level in Social Sciences. At present the faculty is educating more than 2400 people from 87 countries. Lines of study: History, Philosophy,Political Science,Sociology, International relations, Trans-regional studies, Public administration,Arts and humanities The faculty holds it effective to open and diversify Joint Master Programs in each of the directions presented at the faculty and with regard to the elected language.
Dr. Alexander Gasparishvili is Professor of Sociology at the Faculty of Humanitarian and Social Sciences. He has а broad experience of organizing and participation in а variety of sociological projects. He was leader of a big number of nation-wide research projects. Among those projects: Social and Political Trends in the CIS Countries: Key Indicators and Social Measurements of Transition (2003-2005), Sociological Survey of Russian Regional Policy Making (1998), Illegal Drug Market in Moscow (UNICRI, 1997), etc. Dr Alexander Gasparishvili took part in working out the design of the questionnaires and samples, data analysis and preparation of the reports.). Alexander Gasparishvili is the author of 4 books and 50 articles on sociological and management issues. National partner in Russia in EAB-1 and EAB-2 (2000-2010) Laboratory for Public Opinion Research, Moscow State University, Moscow, Russian Federation. The Laboratory for Public Opinion Research at the Moscow M.V. Lomonosov State University is part of the University's research institutes. The Laboratory for Public Opinion Research at the Moscow State Lomonosov University has been founded in 1993 and since then has established multiple liaisons with international and local research organizations. The Laboratory for Public Opinion Research now ranks among the national leading full-service marketing and opinion research firms. To collect reliable information the Laboratory uses wide range of data gathering methods on the basis of all-Russia’s (up to 10,000 and more respondents) or regional probability samples. The Laboratory operates a survey network in 73 regions of Russia that includes more than 2000 specially trained interviewers and experienced supervisors. The Laboratory conducts qualitative research (focus-groups, in-depth and expert interviewing). The Laboratory has implemented numerous projects commissioned or granted by Russian and foreign foundations, such as RHSF and NTF (Russia), European Science Foundation, National Science Foundation (USA), INTAS, Ford Foundation, Carnegie Foundation and many others, among them. |
